Days Six through Eight - Southern Ocean

We left Macquarie Island late on day five. Not long after leaving Macquarie we had an unusual sighting for these waters, another ship. The next three days would be spent at sea enroute to the continent of Antarctica. Late on the second day at sea we spotted the first of the many icebergs that would soon fill the seas around us.

The third day out brought a spectacular set of icebergs and iceberg vistas as we skirted the edge of the Balleny Island pack ice on course to Cape Adare on the continent where we would be the next morning.
